About
The Sustainable Culture Toolkit (SCT) is a project that supports cultural organizations, artists, and professionals in adopting sustainable practices within the performing arts. Its goal is to provide the cultural sector with a toolkit—including practical resources, guidelines, and case studies—to integrate environmental responsibility into artistic programming and long-term planning.
The SCT highlights the role of the arts as a driver of awareness, collective responsibility, and positive change in response to the global climate crisis. By combining research, best practices, and participatory workshops, the toolkit aspires to make sustainability an integral part of cultural creation and management.
The SCT is an EU-cofunded Erasmus+ project.

Partners
Coordinated by the Athens Epidaurus Festival, and developed in collaboration with Nowy Teatr (Poland), Théâtre de Liège (Belgium), and Organization Earth (Greece), the project brings together international expertise to foster dialogue and exchange on sustainability in culture.
Athens Epidaurus Festival
The Athens Epidaurus Festival is Greece’s leading public cultural institution and one of the oldest festivals in Europe. For over 70 years, it has hosted some of the most prominent names in Music, Dance, and Theatre from both the national and international stage.
Nowy Teatr
Nowy Teatr, founded in 2008 in Warsaw, quickly became an innovative cultural space known for experimental and itinerant performances. Since opening its own International Cultural Centre in 2016, it produces multiple annual productions and hosts a wide range of cultural events.
Théâtre de Liège
Théâtre de Liège is recognized as a Centre Scénique by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and a European Centre for Theatre and Choreography. It has become a hub for contemporary theatre and dance.
Organization Earth
Organization Earth is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development through experiential, non-formal education for all ages. Their initiatives focus on environmental action, social inclusion, and responsible entrepreneurship.
